Основные положения: латерально-распространяющаяся опухоль выделена в отдельную группу эпителиальных новообразований толстой кишки из-за ряда отличительных особенностей, в частности трудной обнаружения; для выявления и оценки особенности роста LST необходимо придерживаться методики колоноскопии; выделены 8 макрокритериев, уточняющих агрессивность опухоли, т.е. наличие и возможную глубину инвазии.

Laterally spreading tumor (LST) is isolated in a separate group of epithelial neoplasias of the colon due to a number of distinctive features, in particular difficult detection; the physician should adhere to the colonoscopy technique to identify and evaluate the growth characteristics of LST; 8 signs are identified that specify the presence and possible depth of infestation.
